This 14K gold filled necklace is a personal favourite. I love the delightful match of the striking fuchsia of the Swarovski Rivoli pendant with the Swarovski Pearls in Creamrose. I bezeled this teardrop rivoli with seed and cylinder beads and wove a cover for the back of the pendant too. For the gold and pearl necklace, I used 14K gold filled wires to wrap the Swarovski pearls to an elegant 14K gold filled chain. The pendant is secured to the chain with a 14K gold filled jump ring. The lobster clasp is 14K gold filled. Length of the necklace is 19 inches.

I made this ring using a Swarovki Filigree Sunflower. This is basically a filigree with Swarovski crytals encrusted in the middle. I embellished this filigree by weaving more Swarovski crystals in Smoky Quartz and Ceylon Topaz around the border with artistic wire. I then cemented the filigree to a faux silver adjustable ring. The end result is an elegant, stylish ring!

Here's another piece of work using Swarovski rivolis. This time in Vitrail Medium, which is basically an olive green rivoli faceted and coated with the Vitrail Medium effect to refract light in flashes of pink, purple, blue and yellow. It's really a gorgeous effect which the photographs just can't fully capture. I bezeled these rivolis with seed beads in gold green, purple and pink hues. I then attached 14K gold filled ear hooks to the bezeled rivolis and voila! A precaution: these earrings should not be in contact with perfume and/or perspiration. The seed beads don't like these. Keep the earrings clean and sparkling with a soft jewellery polishing cloth, not by washing them. These are available commercially. Or you can buy them from me.

I made Starburst earrings last year and I love the Starburst design by Laura McCabe. For this ring, I bezeled a Swarovski rivoli in Amethyst with cylinder and seed beads in tones of blue and purple. I then wove Swarovski crystal bicones in Light Amethyst and Amethyst with Aurora Borealis effects around the bezeled rivoli. I used magenta-purple seed beads for the picots at the tips of the bicones. Lastly, I cemented this rivoli to a faux silver filigree ring, which is adjustable in size.

This necklace is 100% handcrafted. I wove bronze seed beads together using the right angle weave technique to make the rope necklace. The pendants consist of 2 lovely Swarovski rivolis in deep purple (smaller) and fuchsia (larger). I bezeled these rivolis with multi-coloured seed beads and Swarovski crystals. I then wove the 2 rivolis together to join them. Next, I wove the pendant bail around the rope necklace to secure the pendants to the necklace.

I used antiqued bronze findings at the rope ends and an antiqued bronze toggle clasp to complete the work.The antiqued brass necklace ends and antiqued bronze toggle clasp. The beads at the tip of the conical rope ends are brown coral rounds.

Pink. My favourite colour.

For me, Pink is the colour that best represents femininity. Like a woman whose nature can be so soft, nurturing and gentle and yet bold and dynamic, Pink's myriad shades range from light and subtle to bold fuchsia.

I wire wrapped these pretty light pink Czech glass briolettes and capped them with rose quartz rondelles. Leverbacks and wires in 925 Sterling Silver.

There is great joy in using one's hands to fashion an artistic piece of work in which another sees sufficient beauty and value to offer as a gift to loved ones, more so for a special season; the Yuletide season of Joy, Peace and Giving.

Here is a pair I've named Joy, because of the bright colour scheme among other things. I've used turquoise teardrops wire-wrapped with 925 sterling silver wire and red coral rounds. All findings in 925 sterling silver.

I would like to extend my best wishes to all my friends and supporters this New Year.

2010 has passed just like that. Swallowed in the belly of the Past. Besides memories good and bad, it has left me in wonder: Where has it gone? Where am I now? And where will I go from here?

2010 for me was a year of many uncertainties. Seemingly good things turned bad and many times, I felt lost and confused.

But as the saying goes, "This too shall pass..." and with passage of time comes opportunities: for Renewal and Hope.

And I find my Constant Companion, in the form of Love and Faith, taking me by the hand through the portals of 2011.

BIRTHDAY PARTY GIFTS - PEARLIES

I have been so busy making jewellery these last few months (thanks to my dear friend Rebecca Kool) that I simply have had no time to update my blog. I figured that I should get busy updating my Blog with LAST YEAR's work before I progress further into THIS NEW YEAR!

So here are 2 pictures of Swarovski Glass Pearl earrings in a range of pretty colours : Cream, Powder Rose, Powder Almond, Peach, Light Blue, Light Green, Copper, Burgundy, Light and Dark Grey, Gold and Mystic Black. I made these Pearlies for Nadya as it was her thoughtful gesture to give her gal-pals party gifts on her birthday (which was 2 months ago....Sigh...). I used gold plated french ear hooks and clip ons as some of Nadya's friends do not have pierced ears.

NADYA'S BRACELET

This is the last item I made for Nadya after the earrings and the Tiara. I stayed up all through the night to complete weaving the crystals! I used Swarovski cyrstals to match the earlier pieces. This bracelet drapes over the wrist like fabric. When Nadya and her mum told me they loved the result, I felt the sacrifice of my sleep was well worth it.

NADYA'S TIARA

As I was working on Nadya's earrings, Nadya's mum Mrs Kool asked if I could make a Tiara or hair band to match the earrings. I had never tried making a tiara until then but decided to try making one. After browsing the net for some tips and ideas, I made this hair band for Nadya. I thought it looked pretty nice for a first attempt. Much to my delight, my dear friend Mrs Kool and Nadya thought so too!

STARBURSTS FOR NADYA

A few weeks ago, a dear old friend of mine, Mrs Rebecca Kool, posted a comment on BintangJewelry's Facebook Page about our very first pair of Starbursts earrings. She liked the earrings very much and wanted to know if I could make a pair of Starbursts in reverse colours (ie, purple centre) with clip-ons instead of ear wires/hooks. Until then, I had never made any earrings with clip-ons, but I figured I could well try my first!

My friend told me that she wanted the earrings for her daughter Nadya to wear to her Primary 6 graduation party. She emailed me a picture of her daughter's gown. It was a beautiful purple toga dress, with frills of purple and fuchsia across the chest from the shoulder. The colours of the dress gave me instant inspiration. Coupled with my passion for jewellery-making and my excitement at making something special and unique for Nadya for her special occasion, I immediately got down to work.

When I had completed half a pair, I emailed my friend a picture of the work in progress to see if it matched what she had in mind. To my delight, both mother and daughter said they love it! So I went on to complete the pair. I successfully attached clip-ons to them.

What you see here is the end result! I used a Light Vitrail rivoli and Swarovski bicones in Fuchsia, Fuchsia AB effects and Lilac. Also used purple-gold and silver seead beads and deep purple cylinders to bezel the rivoli and make the picots.

LAURA McCABE BEZEL RING - SOLD

Laura McCabe is a renowned beading specialist, whose forte is making exquisite jewellery using seed beads, miyuki beads and delicas, with Swarovski crystals and other lovely beads. Her uniqueness lies in her technique : the Peyote Stitch, with durable nylon thread.
I am so excited to have learnt her beading technique and I followed her instructions to design and create this bezel ring, which I made using a Swarovski rivoli in Crystal Copper. I made the bezel with lovely gold-purple seed beads and gold cylinder beads.
I must confess that making this ring was quite challenging, especially when I realised after sitting at it for 3 hours, that I got it all wrong and I had to dismantle everythting to start again from scratch. However, the sheer love and passion for beading, and the patience that one exercises in respect of all that one is passionate about, is personally rewarding to say the least.
I am truly pleased with the result and hope you are too!
